8th Degree Black Belt. Certified Kung Fu San Soo Master.
Kung Fu San Soo is a Chinese martial art rooted in the Tsoi Li Ho Fut Hung family system, designed for practical combat rather than performance or competition. Its techniques originate from ancient military applications and focus on ending encounters quickly and effectively.
The art was brought to the United States by Chin Siu Dek (Jimmy H. Woo), who opened the first San Soo studio in El Monte, California in 1959 and taught until his passing in 1991.
Rhonda began training in San Soo under Master Bill Hulsey in 2001, returning to his studio in 2008 after a brief break. She earned her Master’s Certificate in 2018 after more than a decade of dedicated training. A San Soo purist, she teaches in the traditional Hulsey style, emphasizing windmills, leverages, and a structured lesson-based approach, and continues the lineage through online courses that make authentic San Soo accessible to students worldwide.
In addition to teaching Kung Fu San Soo, Rhonda is the author of the Kung Fu San Soo Master Lesson Book, a comprehensive guide containing the complete structured curriculum of the art.
This in-depth volume covers foundational principles through advanced applications, presenting the full progression of training in a clear, organized format. Each section is designed to break down complex techniques into structured, teachable components, preserving the integrity of the system while making it accessible for serious practitioners.
Created to document and preserve the traditional Hulsey method of San Soo, the Master Lesson Book serves as both a teaching manual and a long-term reference for students and instructors alike. Drawing from decades of dedicated training, teaching, and refinement, Rhonda developed this work to provide lineage-correct instruction and a disciplined framework for mastery.
This publication represents one of the most complete written resources available for Kung Fu San Soo, supporting practitioners around the world in developing practical, real-world proficiency rooted in structure, clarity, and tradition.
